There are two sections on this page – both of which will help you know and understand what good mental wellbeing means and how you can discover ways to look after your mental health and wellbeing.
Health Minds in East Riding
Healthy Minds is a new campaign brought to you by East Riding of Yorkshire Council Public Health, their partners and co-produced by local people with experience of poor mental health.
We want the East Riding to be a mentally healthy place to live. There are lots of providers in the local area that can help local people with their mental health. It’s important to remember to get help when your mental health is affecting your day to day life.
You can use the health scale to see where you are – and you can find out more information on local support, and free training by visiting

Every Mind Matters
Having good mental wellbeing helps our mind and our body: it can mean we relax more, achieve more and enjoy our lives more.
There are things we can all do to look after our mental health and wellbeing and the NHS has a great website with hints and tips, apps you can download and a range of ideas to help us improve our mind and body health.
Every Mind Matters is here to help you manage and maintain your mental health, as good mental health makes such a difference. It helps us to relax more, achieve more and enjoy our lives more.
We all go through ups and downs
We all experience times when we’re struggling or not coping as we might like, or where our circumstances and life events make things extremely difficult and challenging. It’s part of life, and sometimes it’s OK to not be OK.
Our mental health is not fixed, it’s fluid, and just as it can be affected by our life experiences, events and circumstances, there are things we can do to improve it and help others.
There are simple things you can do
Just like your physical health, there are things you can do to look after your mental health and wellbeing, no matter who you are or how you’re feeling.
Every Mind Matters is where everyone can make a start. There are simple actions and steps we can all take that can help us manage feelings of stress, anxiety, low mood or when we are struggling to get to sleep.
From tips on how to get more physical activity, to mindful breathing exercises and advice on how to reframe unhelpful thoughts, all the information and advice in Every Mind Matters has been developed with experts and approved by the NHS. Royal College of General Practitioners has endorsed Every Mind Matters.
